Michael Lumb stars with the bat as Sydney Sixers win Champions League title

Sydney Sixers claimed the Champions League Twenty20 title in emphatic fashion, thrashing the Lions by 10 wickets in Johannesburg.

Michael Lumb thumped an unbeaten 82 as he and opening partner Brad Haddin (37 not out) steered the Sixers past their target of 122 with 45 deliveries to spare.
England T20 international Lumb belted five sixes and eight fours in his brutal 42-ball knock that meant he scooped the man-of-the-match award.
Skipper Haddin was happy to play second fiddle to the Nottinghamshire left-hander, though he still managed a six and four boundaries to score at better than a run-a-ball rate.

Lions restricted

Sydney's comfortable victory had been set up by their bowlers, though, as spinner Nathan McCullum and seamer James Hazlewood took three wickets apiece to restrict the Lions to 121 all out.
The South African franchise were unable to fully recover from a disastrous start that saw them lose their first four wickets with only nine runs on the scoreboard.
McCullum (3-24) started the rot by getting rid of Gulam Bodi in the first over of the contest, then claimed the wickets of Sohail Tanvir (11) and Thami Tsolekile (20), the last of which ended a 41-run stand for the sixth wicket.
Jean Symes did his best to try and give the Lions bowlers something to work with, making a career-best 51 from 46 deliveries with eight fours.
Hazlewood (3-22) eventually ended Symes' efforts having earlier claimed the scalps of Quintin de Kock and Neil McKenzie, who failed to trouble the scorers before skying a catch to Ben Rohrer.
