The Ospreys earned a late bonus point as they beat Treviso in Heineken Cup opener

Ashley Beck crossed for a last-minute try to earn the Ospreys a bonus point from their 38-17 victory over Treviso.

The Welsh side looked set to come up short after wasting a number of second-half opportunities to make the perfect start in a ferociously tough Heineken Cup Pool 2.
But the outstanding centre carved his way through a tiring Treviso defence on the final play of the match to cap a fine display from the hosts.
The Ospreys dominated the early exchanges and moved 9-0 clear thanks to three Dan Biggar penalties, with the visitors struggling up front, particularly at the scrum.
Kris Burton replied for Treviso before the outstanding moment of the opening half, as Eli Walker's jinking run past four defenders took the winger in by the posts.
Adam Jones and Antonio Pavanello were sin-binned after a brawl and Manau Vosawai saw yellow for yet another Treviso ruck offence, but the visitors were able to keep their line intact until the break.
But four minutes into the second half Richard Fussell's superb back-handed pass put Hanno Dirksen in at the corner.
The game was turned on its head for five minutes as the Ospreys seemed to switch off and Vosawai and Luke Mclean crossed to haul Treviso briefly back into the contest.
But a Biggar penalty and Simone Favaro's yellow card eased home nerves and Kahn Fortualil'i's crossfield kick to hand Dirksen his second try set up a frantic five minutes before Beck's finale.

Celebrating

With time expired Biggar knocked over his seventh kick from eight attempts for an 18-point individual haul.
The rest of the Ospreys side were already celebrating what could turn out to be a crucial bonus point in what looks to be the toughest of the six Heineken Cup pools.
Multiple former champions Toulouse and Leicester await for the Ospreys, whose management reckon five wins from six games will be needed to qualify for a quarter-final place.
But the Welsh side are finding some form at the right stage of the season - this was their fourth straight win after three defeats - and after losing so many key players during the off-season, this was the perfect performance to lift spirits ahead of bigger tests to come. http://www.skysports.com/rugbyunion/match_report/0,,11069_55371_1,00.html
