Ryan Bertrand was the only squad member missing as a new era for English football got under way at St George's Park.
Roy Hodgson took England's first training session at the FA's new £100m complex ahead of the National Football Centre's official opening. And with the exception of Chelsea full-back Bertrand, who reported for duty with a sore throat, all Hodgson's players were in action in front of the assembled media.
Frank Lampard, who injured a knee at the weekend, was restricted to light running alongside Steven Gerrard, while Jermain Defoe worked in the gym.
Gerrard is suspended for Friday's World Cup qualifier against San Marino, and Lampard is the obvious replacement as captain if - as expected - he recovers in time.
Ashley Cole played a full part in the session after a personal apology to FA chairman David Bernstein eased tensions raised by last week's abusive tweet.
