Manchester United skipper Nemanja Vidic has returned to training

Manchester United skipper Nemanja Vidic could be on course to make his comeback against Cluj on Wednesday after returning to training.

The Serbian defender has been absent since September after undergoing knee surgery.

Injuries have meant Vidic has played just 15 times for United since the start of last season, but Sir Alex Ferguson will be hoping he can call upon his skipper this week.
Ferguson called United's defending at Reading over the weekend the worst he had seen this season, so the chance of adding Vidic to his defensive options will be a huge boost.
It is anticipated the 31-year-old will return as captain to face Cluj, and if he came through unscathed it would put him in line to face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
