No play possible between Australia and South Africa after heavy rain

The second day of the first Test between Australia and South Africa was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain.

South Africa had been hoping to build on a promising start in Brisbane, with the tourists having reached 255-2 on day one before bad light forced a premature end.
However the covers remained on all day as the weather worsened overnight, with the umpires finally ending any hopes of play at 4pm local time.
Play will now start half on hour early on day three, weather permitting, with Hashim Amla 10 runs from his century and Jacques Kallis alongside him on 84.
While South Africa remained in a strong position, they suffered a blow after the first day's play with the news JP Duminy ruptured an Achilles tendon in the warm-down, leaving them with only 10 batsmen.
The Proteas' 12th man Francois du Plessis will field in Duminy's place at the Gabba but will not be able to bat, while Duminy is expected to be out for up to six months.
